What happens if we fail to fight our temptaions and give in to it? and then ask for forgiveness, then repeat it again?
One don't just sin in doing what is wrong but also fail to do what is right. That is why a Christian must know the Bible in the shortest possible time so as not to be ignorant of what is required by God. Even when one knows what is required, a Christian will fail due to one's inperfection and God understands this reality. That is why He is willing to forgive when one is truly sorry. Only God knows when one is truly sorry. Christians can go through the motion to ask for forgiveness without feeling bad inside is actually a waste of time.
Asking and receiving forgiveness is about reconciliation. So when a Christian is often asking for forgiveness from God shows that the Christian is aware of his/her sins and has a desire to be make right with God. He/she is not taking God's holiness for granted for it is God who said 'Be holy as I am holy'. When a Christian is asking for forgiveness throughout the day, that Christian is serious with God because he/she is keeping short accounts with God. Peter asked Jesus how many times must one forgive the same sin and Jesus answered 70x7 which means countless times. It is not about how many times but rather why one must forgive.
When God forgives, one is set free to have another opportunity to be tempted again and to overcome the temptation. So it is the same that one must forgive those who have sinned against him/her when they seek his/her forgiveness so one can set them free to relate with him/her again.
Doing the will of God, does it mean stop doing the hectic demands by the society?
'Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added to you'. Lets be crystal clear of what is the life that God wants Christians to live - "Live to 'eat' God's Word so as to eat to live God's purpose". As long one seeks to grow in the knowledge of God's Word, it will become one's conscience in making godly decisions in every aspect of life. Let the Author of the Word of Life be the guide and it will not go wrong. Then the adventure has begun...
FEAR
There are two kinds of fear exhibited in the church today: one is the fear of displeasing God which result in wanting to obey. The other is the fear of punishment which hoping that the grace of God will over ride willing disobedience.
I THINK...
When someone says 'I think...', that person is not sure and it is hoped that he/she will go and find out. A lot of Christians think who God is but not many will bother to find out because they still think they know who God is. Thinking who God is is idolatry.
