THE C OF Cs
The 6 Cs in Singapore... Credit Cards, Cash, Certificates, Cars, Condominium and Clubs. There are people who want to be Christians because they believe that through Christ they can have all the Cs or to have all the present Cs upgraded.
Believing in Christ is fundamental because it has to do with eternity. Whether having the Cs or not is incidental because it is temporary. If any of the Cs is threatened and a Christian is affected, then it is known what is fundamental and who is incidental.
To contextualise Philippians 3:4a-11 into the Christian Faith in Singapore...
“I have a few millions in my back account, 3 Phd from the top 3 university in the world, a fleet of European cars, landed properties both in local and in overseas and a member of prestigious clubs both in local and in overseas. But what was my profit, I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider the cs a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my C of cs, for whose sake I have lost all the cs. I consider the cs as incidentals and where possible they are all SHIT that deserve to be flushed away, that I may gain the C of life who is fundamental and be found in Him.”
True faith is always expressed in strong language.
THE PERSON OR THE PLACE
A story was told that a Director of a company took a sit along the length of the conference table instead the either two ends of it before the meeting. A staff pointed to him that he should sit at the one end of the table as that will make him look more of a Director chairing the meeting. The Director replied that sitting on a particular place does not give the person significance but rather who the person is gives significance to place he sits in.
When Jesus was born in the stable, did he bring significance to the place making it His palace?
During the trial, was it Jesus standing before Pilate and Herod or both of them were standing before Jesus?
