VOLUNTEER OR SERVANT
A Volunteer determines how much time, effort and resources to the one who calls. He or she comes from a position of strength. There is always an uncertainty whether there is enough manpower to get the work done.
A Servant is obligated to give all the required time, effort and resources to the one who calls. He or she comes from a position of sacrifice. There is always certainty that there is enough manpower to get the work done.
In the Church of Jesus Christ, there are no volunteers but servants. Look around, one can see the majority of Christians behaving more like a volunteer than a servant.

Abram was going about his own life and suddenly God made him to be a blessing.
Moses was going about looking after his sheep and suddenly God made him a leader.
David was going about looking after his sheep and suddenly God anointed him king.
Mary was going about getting married to Joseph and suddenly God made her pregnant.
The shepherds were going about looking after their sheep at night and suddenly the announcement of the arrival of The King.
Noah's generation was eating, drinking and marrying, and suddenly it was swept away by the flood.
